Traditionally, cultural experiences were designed for a narrow audience — those who can see, walk, hear and speak. SenseMuse supports museums with a peripheral character to become leaders in accessibility, across Italy, Germany, Greece and Romania.

Master Class in Cultural Communication
The course equips cultural heritage professionals with practical skills to interpret collections in engaging, accessible and inclusive ways.
Through four modules, participants will explore cost-effective strategies for improving storytelling, audience engagement and accessibility, helping cultural spaces become more interactive and welcoming to diverse audiences. The course also introduces accessible digital tools, including Canva, Miro and Figma, that can support museum interpretation and cultural communication with minimal financial investment.

Capacity Building in Accessible Culture
Delivered through six online modules, the programme explores how museums can effectively accommodate and engage visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing, blind or visually impaired, have intellectual disabilities or mobility impairments, as well as visitors on the autism spectrum.
Participants learn how to apply inclusive solutions such as captioning and sign language, audio descriptions and tactile resources, clear and simplified content, accessible infrastructure, and sensory-friendly experiences. The course also supports organisations in moving from individual measures to long-term accessibility planning through strategic partnerships, inclusive outreach and continuous improvement.
A right, not a privilege
Access to culture is a human right.
In 2023, 8.3% of EU citizens aged 16–24 reported a disability — rising to 74.8% among those 85 and over. Yet just 1–5% of literature is accessible to blind and visually impaired readers. Small and peripheral museums hold most of Europe’s local heritage. SenseMuse exists to close that gap.
